Lawyers also revealed that the trade earned Jane Street $1 billion last year and was on pace to earn even more for the firm this year. Jane Street worried about extinguishing the trade's viability, Brown said, intentionally leaving short-term profits on the table to maintain its long-term viability. But the company's profits from the strategy plummeted in the month after the traders joined Millennium, Jane Street says, falling 50% in March. U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said conspiracy charges against KuCoin and two executives should warn other crypto exchanges that they cannot serve U.S. customers without following U.S. laws. An indictment in Manhattan federal court said the company and its founders tried to conceal the existence of its U.S. customer base. KuCoin was also required to cease New York operations after falsely representing itself as a crypto exchange without registering as a securities and commodities broker-dealer, James said. “KuCoin grew to service over 30 million customers, despite its alleged failure to follow laws necessary to ensuring the security and stability of our world’s digital banking infrastructure,” McCormack said. Arm Holdings is a UK-based semiconductor and software design company that has been around for quite some time and been through multiple corporate events, changes of ownership and multiple large investors. The majority shareholder of Arm (ARM) is Japanese conglomerate Softbank, which bought the company in 2016 before taking it public again on the Nasdaq in 2023. Investors looking to bet on the artificial intelligence boom may want to take a look at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing , according to JPMorgan. Analyst Gokul Hariharan reiterated his overweight rating on the semiconductor maker, a supplier to chip majors such as Nvidia , Advanced Micro Devices and Qualcomm , saying that "all roads in AI semis lead" to the company. Within the next three to four years, Hariharan expects Taiwan Semiconductor to maintain its greater-than 90% market share of AI-connected processor silicon. By 2026, he forecasts the company's revenues can hit $119 billion, driven by robust growth in high-performance computing as AI training and inference demand grows. A solid setup for the company's 3 nanometer process technology for chipmakers such as Nvidia should also benefit revenues.
